Alternative Transportation Next Topic at Greening the (918)

The Greening the (918) series continues this Tuesday, February 17 with a seminar on “Alternative Transportation.”

The February seminar is set for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Central Center Auditorium, 1028 E. 6th. In addition to looking at transportation systems (like roads, lights rail, buses) the conversation at this seminar will cover the health aspects of using different modes of transportation, like walking and riding your bike.

Panel members who will address the Transportation issue, include: Jack Crowley, special advisor to the Mayor on Downtown Development; Jennifer O’Leary, Tulsa Parks Department and Tulsa Million Miles; Rick Westcott, City Counselor – District 2; and Patrick Fox, developer; Tim Armer, Transportation Manager for INCOG; and Tom Sewell, President of Tulsa Gas Technologies. Additional special guests have been invited who will share their thoughts on this issue with attendees during and after the seminar.

Organized by the Mayor’s Green Team and Sustainable Tulsa, this year-long seminar series began in November with a program on “Green Building.” For more information about this and other “Green” efforts in the City of Tulsa, see the Initiatives section of our website, www.BeGreenTulsa.com.
