City of Tulsa
Improving Quality of Life for Tulsans

Tulsa Million Miles is rapidly gaining momentum with more than 140,000 miles logged and 2,000 registered users. Soon, our great city will be a quarter of the way toward achieving our goal of one million miles.

Mayor Kathy Taylor’s Tulsa Million Miles offers Tulsans an interactive Web site where they can log their exercise miles by running, walking, biking, swimming, or getting involved in a myriad of exercise activities to stay fit and healthy.

Tulsa Million Miles.com helps keep track of individuals and groups’ progress and offers great features such as a free iphone application, upcoming fitness and health events, “Guess the Time and Date We’ll Reach a Million Miles Contest,” and more. Current Web site users who have seen an improvement in their health and fitness can share their success stories by e-mailing: info@tulsamillionmiles.com

The Tulsa Health Department (THD), an active supporter of Tulsa Million Miles and one of 55 Mayor’s Fitness Challenge Partners, is also leading efforts for a program that can improve the quality of life for Tulsan County residents. The “Pathways to Health” program is dedicated to encouraging and building partnerships and developing health advocates in every neighborhood. THD’s staff is currently soliciting feedback from neighborhood associations, coalitions and other forums and town meetings and posting the results in blog format at www.pathwayshealthtulsa.org
