The heart-warming Rogers and Hammerstein musical “The Sound of Music” will make its first appearance on the Clark Theatre stage, opening February 6.
One of the all-time favorite American musicals, “The Sound of Music,” tells the story of Maria, who comes to work as a governess for the Von Trapp family. Initially suspicious of yet another governess, Maria finally wins over both the children, and their widowed father. The musical, featuring songs such as, “My Favorite Things,” “Climb Every Mountain” and of course the title song, “The Sound of Music,” is the ultimate feel-good story, and will continue to be a favorite due to its message of hope, harmony, and happiness.
The Sound of Music, made possible in part through a grant from the George Kaiser Family Foundation, plays Feb. 6 – 7 and 13 – 14 at 7:30 p.m., and Feb.8 and 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 adult and $6 seniors and students.
