It’s not too early to be thinking about a summer job and Tulsa Parks is now accepting applications for Lifeguard positions.
Committed to providing a safe and enjoyable pool experience for the citizens of Tulsa, Tulsa Parks annually offers 45 – 60 positions, depending on how many staff members return from the previous year. The salary range for a Lifeguard is between $8.40 and $8.82 per hour, with many of them working a full 40-hour week.
The actual number of pools opening this summer has yet to be determined. On May 30, the pools will begin opening for the summer.
In an effort to increase Lifeguard applicants, Tulsa Parks is offering Lifeguard Certification Classes free of charge. These classes are valued at $150/person and the next class will be forming sometime in February. If you’re interested in applying for a lifeguard position at a City of Tulsa-Tulsa Parks pool, you must be 16 years of age by May 30. E-mail RFreiner@CityofTulsa.org if you plan on attending the class.
A Lifeguard applicant can also get certified through the YMCA or American Red Cross (www.TulsaRedCross.org).
Anyone who is already certified may apply for a position now. Apply online.
