Mayor Kathy Taylor invites Tulsans to join her in welcoming Steve and Monique Burkett to Tulsa. The Burketts are Kansas residents and guests this week of native Tulsan Holly Yeagle, winner of last summer’s Bring a Friend to Tulsa contest. Yeagle’s name was drawn from among hundreds of Tulsans who participated in last summer’s Neighborfest celebrations.
Mayor Taylor is hosting the Bring a Friend to Tulsa reception, Tuesday, March 17 from 5 – 6 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 100 East Second Street in the upper lobby near the escalator. Light refreshments will be provided by The Daily Grill.
Holly Yeagle’s friends, Steve and Monique lived in Tulsa in the early ‘90s and were transferred to Olathe, Kansas in 1999. The couple is excited about the opportunity to visit Tulsa and see how the city has changed since their move to Kansas.
Following the reception at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, the Burkett and Yeagle families will attend the Billy Joel/Elton John Concert at the BOK Center. The tickets were part of the Bring a Friend to Tulsa winner’s prize package, which also includes: a two-night stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel; dinner for four, courtesy of McNellies; and dinner with wine for four, courtesy of Polo Grill. Special thanks to the Philbrook’s la Villa Restaurant for also providing brunch for the Yeagle family.
