Bring a Friend to Tulsa Showcased Tulsa’s Best

Last week Mayor Kathy Taylor welcomed the Burketts, guests of the Yeagles and winners of last year's Bring a Friend to Tulsa contest, which was held during the 2008 summer Neighborfests. The event was a celebration and reminder to Tulsans to invite their out-of-town friends to visit here often and experience all the city has to offer.

Mayor Taylor said, "Last week's event was a great venue to help Tulsans learn how to promote their city. We have a lot to be proud of here and our Bring a Friend to Tulsa is a good start at showcasing our city's new kind of energy and all the changes that are taking place."

Following the reception, the Burkett and Yeagle families attended the Billy Joel/Elton John concert at the BOK Center. The tickets were part of the Bring a Friend to Tulsa winner’s prize, comprising donations from companies located or doing business in Tulsa.
