The next phase of the PLANiTULSA planning process has begun!
All Tulsans are invited to kickoff the balloting portion of the PLANiTULSA planning process on May 12 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Cain’s Ballroom. The event will feature music and light refreshments, along with PLANiTULSA information.
Tulsans can see the four scenarios for future Tulsa land development that the planning team created from maps symbolizing the input of nearly 1,500 workshop attendees last fall and winter.
A newsletter has been prepared that explains the Comprehensive Plan process, and how the four scenarios were compiled. A summary of each of the scenarios looks at specifics: housing, transportation, jobs, community and the environment. Then, the changes that will result from that particular plan are summarized statistically, considering how the changes will affect people, the economy, transportation opportunities, and community and the environment.
In the 12-question survey, you will select your favorite scenario, based on your own desires for jobs, housing, transportation options, demographics and green space in Tulsa over the next several decades.
For those who do not attend the kickoff event, the survey will be available after May 12 at public locations, then mailed, faxed or dropped off. The survey can also be completed online at: www.planitulsa.org
Following compilation of the survey results, the draft vision for Tulsa’s plan will be unveiled and available for public comment at citywide open houses and events prior to a public hearing and possible adoption by the City of Tulsa City Council.
PLANiTULSA is the process now under way to create a new comprehensive plan for Tulsa, to replace a plan created 30 years ago. The City contracted with Fregonese and Associations, Portland, OR, to create this new plan.
