City of Tulsa Weekly Street Construction Update
Editor’s note: New or corrected information on each item is printed in boldface type.
Street improvement projects that affect traffic on major Tulsa streets include:
NEW: SOUTH DELAWARE AVENUE, EAST 101ST STREET SOUTH TO EAST 121ST STREET SOUTH AND YALE AVENUE: The road will be closed Saturday and Sunday, February 4 and 5, for installation of a storm sewer across Delaware Avenue. (McGuire Brothers Construction)
NEW: 3300 TO 3600 NORTH YALE AVENUE: The street will be closed for repair from Monday, February 6 to Friday, February 10.
NEW: 1500 N. SHERIDAN ROAD: The northbound curb lane will be closed for one week during street repair after a waterline repair.
OPEN: EAST 21ST STREET BETWEEN HARVARD AVENUE AND YALE AVENUE (GATE 12 OF TULSA FAIRGROUNDS)
OPEN: 100 N. BOULDER AVE.
OPEN: 4610 N. LEWIS AVE.
OPEN: 5607 S. LEWIS AVE.
OPEN: 600 W. ARCHER ST.
OPEN: 3712 CHARLES PAGE BOULEVARD
OPEN: 2711 S. HARVARD AVE.
OPEN: 2600 S. 65TH WEST AVE.
OPEN: EAST 71ST STREET AND U.S. HIGHWAY 75
SOUTH YALE AVENUE, EAST 36TH STREET TO EAST 46TH STREET: Traffic is narrowed to one northbound lane and one southbound lane for street rehabilitation until May. (Horizon Construction Co.)
NORTH PEORIA AVENUE AND 36TH STREET NORTH: Traffic on Peoria is narrowed to one northbound lane and one southbound lane; “no left turn” signs have been placed at the intersection. The project is scheduled for completion in February. (Becco Contractors)
SOUTH PEORIA AVENUE, EAST 21ST STREET TO EAST 31ST STREET: Traffic is limited to one southbound lane during street rehabilitation, which is scheduled for completion in March. (Horizon Construction Co.)
EAST 11TH STREET SOUTH, MEMORIAL DRIVE TO 89TH EAST AVENUE: Traffic is narrowed to one eastbound lane and one westbound lane during street rehabilitation, which is scheduled for completion in February. (Becco Contractors Inc.)
SOUTH YALE AVENUE, 71ST STREET TO 81ST STREET: Construction is under way to widen this road to six lanes. The project is 83.5 percent complete. Completion of the project will be in March 2006. (Sherwood Construction Co.)
EAST 91ST STREET AND SOUTH YALE AVENUE: Construction is under way to widen this intersection and also Yale Avenue between 91st Street and the Creek Turnpike. “No left turn” signs are in place until completion of the project, scheduled for December 2006. (Sherwood Construction Co.)
1100 N. QUEBEC AVE.: A timber bridge crossing Coal Creek in the Westrope Acres II subdivision is closed to traffic until repairs can begin in the spring.
NORTH ELGIN AVENUE, BETWEEN JOHN HOPE FRANKLIN BLVD. (HASKELL STREET) AND I-244: The street is closed to through traffic until December 2007 during construction of a new building at OSU Tulsa. Traffic is detoured onto North Greenwood Avenue.
SOUTH MEMORIAL DRIVE AT THE CREEK TURNPIKE: Intermittent lane closures will occur during an Oklahoma Turnpike Authority project to work on the Creek Turnpike bridge over Memorial. The project is scheduled for completion in late February.
