City of Tulsa residential refuse collection customers may soon see a 7.5 percent reduction in their monthly utility bills if the City Council approves recommendations from the Tulsa Authority for the Recovery of Energy (TARE) which oversees refuse collection and disposal operations.
This also includes the residential refuse demonstration pilot areas.
A 7.5 percent reduction is recommended. It would lower bills by 85 cents monthly in the once-a-week service area and by $1.09 in the twice-a-week service area.
Rates would lower from $11.37 to $10.52 in the once-a-week area and from $14.53 to $13.44 in the twice-a-week area which encompasses about 85 percent of the city.
If the Council approves the recommendation, changes could take effect with the new fiscal year which begins July 1st.
