
Friday, November 10, the Veterans Day Parade begins at Noon. Crowds in excess of 10,000 are anticipated to attend this American Legion I and VFW 577 event, which begins at noon. The parade will head west on 3rd Street from Detroit Avenue to Boulder Avenue, south on Boulder Avenue to 6th Street, east on 6th Street to Boston Avenue, north on Boston Avenue to 4th Street and east on 4th Street to Detroit Avenue. The above streets will be closed from 11:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. for the parade route.
2nd Street, 3rd Street, 4th Street, and 5th Street between Detroit Avenue and Kenosha Avenue and Elgin Avenue, Frankfort Avenue, and Greenwood Avenue between 1st Street and 6th Street will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the staging area.
Vehicles parked on the parade route and within the staging areas will be ticketed and/or towed beginning at 10 a.m. This includes loading zones and any type of parking spaces.
Drivers who are not coming to watch or participate in this event should avoid this area. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance.
