Weekly Street Construction Update

Street improvement projects that affect traffic on major Tulsa streets include:

New: East 81st Street and South Delaware Avenue: East 81st Street will close to traffic at South Delaware Avenue on Monday, March 12, for 90 days. This is part of a widening project for the 81st and Delaware intersection and for East 81st Street, South Delaware Avenue to South Harvard Avenue. Delaware Avenue is closed to traffic between 81st Street and 81st Place. Project completion is scheduled for July. (Becco Contractors Inc.)

New: East 91st Street and South Mingo Road: The northbound curb lane on Mingo Road will close Monday, March 12, for two weeks during water valve replacement. (W.N. Couch Inc.)

New: West Edison Street and 29th West Avenue: The eastbound lanes on Edison Street will close Monday, March 12, for one week for waterline work related to a neighborhood street improvement project. (Pavement Conservation Specialists Inc.)

North Mingo Road, Pine Street to 35th Street North: Lane closures will occur in the northbound lanes for five days during street resurfacing to repair pothole damage. (Becco Contractors Inc.)

71st Street south Bridge over Arkansas River: Lane closures will occur for 25 days during joint repair on the bridge. (Keystone Services Inc.)

South Delaware Avenue, East Third Street to East Fourth Street: Traffic is limited to one-way southbound for two weeks during this street improvement project on Delaware Avenue between 11th Street and Interstate 244. Completion is scheduled for July. (Horizon Construction Co.)

South Boston Avenue, Fourth Street to Third Street: Traffic is limited to two northbound lanes. Also, traffic on Third Street at Boston Avenue is narrowed to one eastbound lane and one westbound lane. Four-way stop signs are in place at the intersections of Sixth Street and Seventh Street with Boston Avenue. This is part of street improvements, sidewalk enhancements and conversion to two-way traffic on South Boston Avenue between Third and 10th streets. Completion of the project is scheduled for fall 2007. (Horizon Construction Co.)

East Pine Street, North Lewis Avenue to North Peoria Avenue: Traffic is limited to westbound only during installation of waterlines crossing the road. Project completion is scheduled for April. (Yocham Enterprises Inc.)

East 81st Street and South Mingo Road: Construction has begun for widening this intersection. The project is scheduled for completion in October. (Becco Contractors Inc.)

East 31st Street, South Garnett Road to South 129th East Avenue: Construction is under way for widening this road to five lanes. Completion of the project is scheduled for September. (Horizon Construction Co.)

South Yale Avenue at Interstate 44: The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is rebuilding this interchange. Lane closures will occur when necessary. Completion of the project is scheduled for late March. (Becco Contractors)

North Elgin Avenue, between John Hope Franklin Blvd. And I-244: The street is closed to through traffic until December during construction of a new building at OSU Tulsa. Traffic is detoured onto North Greenwood Avenue.
