Weekly Street Project Update 6/1/07

Street improvement projects that affect traffic on major Tulsa streets include:

Open: East 81st Street at South Delaware Avenue: The widening of the 81st and Delaware intersection continues, and Delaware Avenue is closed between East 81st Street and East 83rd Street. Project completion is scheduled for July. (Becco Contractors Inc.)

New: South Darlington Avenue, East 33rd Street to East 35th Street: Starting Monday, June 4, the road will be closed to through traffic for two weeks during replacement of a storm sewer. (City Underground Collections Personnel)

Rescheduled because of rain: South Yale Avenue, Creek Turnpike to East 101st Street: Lane closures and one-way traffic will be in effect from Tuesday, June 5, through Friday, June 8. City Street Maintenance personnel will apply an asphalt overlay to this road. On Tuesday, June 5, and Wednesday, June 6, the southbound lane will be closed and traffic will be limited to northbound only. On Thursday, June 7, and Friday, June 8, the northbound lane will be closed and traffic will be limited to southbound only.

South Denver Avenue, West 14th Street to West 15th Street: Traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction for one week during work on waterlines that cross Denver Avenue at 14th Street and 15th Street. To avoid congestion, motorists should use other routes from Riverside Drive to downtown: Boulder Avenue or Houston Avenue. (Horizon Construction Co.)

5200 S. Harvard Ave.: Traffic is limited to one northbound lane and one southbound lane for 45 days for street maintenance on the bridge. (PBX Corporation)

East 21st Street South, 145th East Avenue to 129th East Avenue: The eastbound curb lane is closed for three weeks during a street maintenance project, which is scheduled for completion in October. (Becco Contractors Inc.)

East Pine Street, North Lewis Avenue to North Peoria Avenue: Traffic is limited to westbound only during installation of waterlines crossing the road. Project completion is scheduled for June. (Yocham Enterprises Inc.)

South Delaware Avenue, East Fourth Street to East 10th Street: Traffic is limited to one-way southbound during this street improvement project on Delaware Avenue between 11th Street and Interstate 244. Completion is scheduled for July. (Horizon Construction Co.)

East 81st Street and South Mingo Road: Left-turns are not allowed at the intersection. This intersection-widening project is scheduled for completion in October. (Becco Contractors Inc.)

South Boston Avenue, Fourth Street to Third Street: Traffic is limited to two northbound lanes. Also, traffic on Third Street at Boston Avenue is narrowed to one eastbound lane and one westbound lane. Four-way stop signs are in place at the intersections of Sixth Street and Seventh Street with Boston Avenue. This is part of street improvements, sidewalk enhancements and conversion to two-way traffic on South Boston Avenue between Third and 10th streets. Completion of the project is scheduled for fall 2007. (Horizon Construction Co.)

East 31st Street, South Garnett Road to South 129th East Avenue: Construction is under way for widening this road to five lanes. Completion of the project is scheduled for late September. (Horizon Construction Co.)

North Garnett Road, East 36th Street North to East 46th Street north: The road is closed to through traffic for installation of a sewer line. (Ram Utility Construction)

North Elgin Avenue, between John Hope Franklin Blvd. And I-244: The street is closed to through traffic until December during construction of a new building at OSU Tulsa. Traffic is detoured onto North Greenwood Avenue.
