Mayor Appoints Jeff Wilkie Director of Organizational Development and Performance

Mayor Kathy Taylor has announced that Jeff Wilkie has been appointed Director of Organizational Development and Performance effective October 1, 2007.

“I am so pleased to have Jeff accept this new position,” Taylor said. “As a lifelong Tulsan, Jeff brings with him not only an exceptional professional background, but also a real love of Tulsa and a desire to continue to see the citizens of Tulsa served by a skilled and professional workforce.”

Wilkie will be a member of the Mayor’s management team. In this position, Wilkie will work with departments to ensure services are provided to help the city recruit, retain, and train the best and the brightest for the City of Tulsa workforce. Jeff Wilkie will specifically oversee the Human Resources Department.

“My recent work with the City on the High Performance Government initiatives has been a pleasure,” Wilkie said. “This opportunity to work more closely with city employees will be the key if we want to sustain the gain we received from our rapid improvements. Our City of Tulsa employees are one of our greatest assets! I hope to be a driving force in assisting them as they reach their potential as a workforce.” Jeff Wilkie will continue to lead, in conjunction with Chief Allan LaCroix, the high performance government initiative which is helping city departments ensure effective and quality delivery of services to citizens.

Wilkie’s career has included assisting various organizations as they molded their human resource practices to advocate for and serve their employee populations. He has more than 15 years of progressive human resource experience in the development and implementation of workforce engagement strategies, human resource process improvements, re-engineering, statistical measurement, and resource allocation with a proven record for improving performance in multiple business climates and environments.

Since 2003, Wilkie has served as the principal consultant of Jeff Wilkie Consulting in Tulsa. His client base has included global and national manufacturers, food distributors, healthcare providers, municipalities and other public and private entities.

Wilkie has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma, and Post Graduate Studies in Occupational and Adult Education at Oklahoma State University.

Wilkie will be responsible for the development and achievement of an overall organizational learning and development strategy which supports the City’s long term development plan, and aligns with the management strategy and culture as well as Human Resources strategy and practices.
