Greetings!
It comes as no surprise that Tulsa was recently named the BEST place to Live in the U.S. by Relocate America. Tulsa ranked No. 1 out of 100 cities with data based on each community’s local economy, housing, education, employment, crime, parks and recreation, and other statistics used to make home-buying decisions. This is a point of pride for our city and I’m excited to see what the future holds for Tulsa!
On Thursday, April 30 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the University of Tulsa Allen Chapman Activity Center, the City of Tulsa’s Veterans Affairs Office and the University of Tulsa will host a seminar entitled “Closing the Loop: Meeting the Needs of Returning Military and their Families”. The seminar will feature speakers on veterans' mental health, education, work and family needs, as well as offer a platform for veterans, their families and representatives of institutions and agencies to provide input on veteran programs in Tulsa. For more information about the seminar and veterans programs in Tulsa, please visit the City of Tulsa’s Office of Veterans Affairs online.
The City of Tulsa’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Web site launched last week and can be viewed online. Please check the Web site regularly for the latest information received about programs, projects and funding allocations as we receive updated information from the federal and state government.
Together, we can make great things happen in Tulsa. Thanks for all you do!
Sincerely,
Kathy Taylor
I Believe in Tulsa!

Swine Flu Health Concern
Although there are no confirmed cases of swine flu in Oklahoma, the Tulsa Health Department has heightened their medical surveillance activities and is encouraging residents to take precautions. The Tulsa Health Department, the City of Tulsa and EMSA are all working together and coordinating efforts to aggressively monitor this public health situation and are keeping in close contact with state and federal authorities and the CDC.
