Traffic Calming – making your neighborhood safer to drive, walk and bike.
Traffic calming can be achieved through citizen-based, grassroots education,
enforcement and engineering. Education can lead to a dialogue between residents who are
concerned about traffic safety in their neighborhoods.
We all use residential streets for many different purposes, but respect for
speed limits and courtesy for pedestrians is paramount to creating safer, healthier
neighborhoods. You can help bring this message to your area by demonstrating good
driving habits, observe the cycling and pedestrian laws, and help provide a foundation
for further calming action.
