Vision Services Plan
Employee Cost = $ 6.50/Mo. Family Cost = $ 17.95/Mo. VSP provides high quality eye care. After co-pay, coverage provides an annual thorough eye examination, lenses and frames, allowance for contact lenses and fitting and a substantial discount on laser corrective surgery.

Flexible Benefit Plan
This benefit allows you to pay your medical, dental and vision insurance premiums with pretax dollars and can be a one-time election. Dependent day care and certain unreimbursed medical expenses can be paid with your pre-taxed dollars and may be renewed on an annual basis. This lowers the amount of your taxable income. Therefore, the amount of money you take home is more. This plan is commonly referred to as a “flex” plan.

Legal Benefit Plan
This plan is administered by Hyatt Legal Services and provides a variety of legal services for the low cost of $18.00 per month. The plan includes but is not limited to: Legal Consultations by Telephone, Consumer Matters, Wills & Estate Planning, Financial Matters, Family Law and Criminal Defense.

Life Insurance
Provided at no cost to the employee with a two times the employee’s annual base salary benefit. Dependent coverage may be added for a cost of $2.70/mo. providing $10,000 of coverage on a spouse and $5,000 on eligible dependent children. Supplemental life insurance is also available for the employee, spouse and children with variable rates based on salary, the employee’s age and/or the amount of coverage selected.

Long-term Disability Insurance
This insurance provides income in the event a disability occurs, whether on or off the job. You must be unable to perform the material duties of your occupation due to a disease or injury. Based on the employee’s age when the disability commences, he/she may be eligible to receive benefits to age 65 or beyond. Employees are eligible to accrue the disability benefits after they have been disabled 90 days.

The benefits previously discussed are effective on the first of the month following 30 calendar days of full-time employment. (A detailed benefit orientation will be conducted for new employees the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month in the Francis Campbell Council Room - Initial benefit enrollment and changes may be made on our new online system.)

Retirement Plan
Employees defer 4% on a pre-tax basis and direct those funds into a retirement account. Full-time employees will begin participation in the plan on the first day of the month following their first day of employment. The City of Tulsa’s contribution to the retirement fund equals 6.3% of your earnings. This defined benefit plan is managed by a seven member Board of Trustees who decides how the assets are invested. Employees are eligible to retire at age 65. However, there are provisions for taking early retirement. The Rule of Eighty eliminates the age requirement and provides retirement income when continuous service and age equal 80.

Deferred Compensation Plan
To help supplement your retirement income, this voluntary plan permits you to defer a minimum of $10.00 per pay period (depending on plan) of your pre-tax salary. The City of Tulsa will deposit an additional $.50 for every dollar of employee contribution up to a maximum of $25.00 per month during the first two years of initial participation in the plan. Your contributions may be directed into a variety of investment options. Employees may begin participation in the plan immediately. The City of Tulsa has contracted with Fidelity Investments to administer the Deferred Compensation Plan.

All full-time and part-time classified employees will receive time off with pay for the following thirteen holidays:

Vacation
The amount of vacation time to be accrued upon completion of each calendar month of service by regular employees is as follows: Note: Must be employed a minimum of six months to be eligible for vacation days.

5 but less than 10 years = 16 days per year
10 but less than 15 years = 21 days per year
15 but less than 20 years = 23 days per year
20 but less than 25 years = 25 days per year
25 years or more = 26 days per year

Sick Leave
Eligible employees may receive sick leave during their first year of employment. An accrual of twelve days per year is granted only for sick leave purposes. An employee may accrue a maximum of 150 working days of sick leave. An employee may exchange one sick day for a vacation day, based on accrual beyond 120 days.

Initial Probationary Period
Upon initial appointment to a classified position with the City of Tulsa, an employee shall serve a twelve (12) month probationary period.

Internal Promotions & Progression Policy
The City of Tulsa posts all non-entry vacancies through the Internal Career Opportunities Bulletin first. This provides employees initial consideration for a higher level position vacancies, offering them better pay and more career growth. In addition, many positions offer benefits through a progression policy. This policy enables employees, as they gain experience, education, and expand their job in their current position, to increase their pay in addition to merit salary increases. Employees may apply for internal positions after six months from initial hire date.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The City of Tulsa offers a confidential employee assistance program for employees and/or immediate family members who are experiencing personal problems. Private appointments can be made for any type of personal problem(s) that may be too much to handle alone. This assistance is available through CommunityCare EAP, @ (918) 594-5232.

$FYI- ($$ Cash For Your Ideas $$)
The $FYI program is an Employee Suggestion Program that encourages City employees to formally submit ideas to improve processes, reduce costs, increase revenues and/or improve the services provided to our citizens. In return, City employees can receive cash awards for their suggestions that can result in direct monies to the employee of up to $10,000 per suggestion.

Workforce Home Benefit
The City of Tulsa is proud to provide a benefit called Workforce Home Benefit. Through this plan, you'll reach your goals and own a home faster. You'll have access to the tools and information you need to buy a home. We'll also provide resources for home buyer education as well as financial assistance to help you with your down payment or closing costs.

Alternative Work Schedules
The City of Tulsa has a policy allowing employees to have a more flexible or alternative work schedule, with supervisory and management approval.

Civic Center Parking
City Employees working at the Maxwell Convention Center, 911 Center, Police Municipal Courts or City Hall are eligible to receive discounted convenient downtown parking. The City of Tulsa subsidizes a portion of the cost of either parking or MTTA bus passes. There are three lots to choose from:

Surface Parking $10.85 per month Parkade Parking $21.70 per month
Underground Parking $32.56 per month
MTTA Passes $ 5.00 per month

Oklahoma College Savings Plan
The OCSP offers families an affordable way to help prepare for funding future education expenses at eligible postsecondary institutions anywhere in the country. Contribute a minimum of $100 to open account with as little as $15.00 per pay period through payroll deduction.

Credit Union
City of Tulsa employees may be a member of the Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union. This membership allows each employee special interest rates on savings and loan accounts and provides a checking account feature.

Employee Activities & Recognition
A Citywide committee plans various activities throughout the year that enables employees to interact in a social environment and promotes employee recognition.
