Mayor Taylor Announces April is Operation Clean Sweep Month

The entire month of April is dedicated to Operation Clean Sweep in Tulsa.

Mayor Kathy Taylor has announced that she will kick off the month with a clean up event at Nathan Hale High School, 6960 East 21st Street, on Saturday morning from 9-12 a.m. Volunteers will clean up the campus and parking area at Hale, and then work west along both sides of 21st street.

“Clean Sweep gives us the opportunity as Tulsans, either alone or teaming up with neighbors, churches, school leaders, and civic groups, to spend at least 60 minutes this month to clean up Tulsa,” Taylor said. “We have taken care of most of the storm debris across the city, but much remains in our parks and blowing trash has littered the
sides of our city streets and highways.”

Anyone who would like to assist with the Mayor’s event should check in at the high school circle drive off 21st Street at 9 a.m. to pick up trash bags and gloves. Those items, as well as water and recyling bins, will be provided by the Metropolitan Environmental Trust (M.e.t.) If you want to clean up another area of the city during April, supplies such as bags and gloves are available at the following community centers, courtesy of the M.e.t.:
