1,856,839 Cubic Yards of Tree Debris Hauled

SRS Inc., the debris-cleanup contractor hired by the City in January to remove tree debris from Tulsa streets, has hauled 1, 856,839 cubic yards of debris from Tulsa streets since operations began in mid early January.

The contractor’s crews hauled 44,400 cubic yards Tuesday using 73 hauling trucks and seven tree-trimming trucks.

So far the cost of picking up and hauling debris, at $3.79 per cubic yard, totals slightly more than $7 million. That does not include the cost of monitoring operations, which is being done by a separate contractor, or grinding the debris into mulch and disposing of the mulch, which is the job of a third contractor.

The crews are still making the first pass through all Tulsa public streets. After the first pass is completed, a second will begin, followed by a third. The beginning of the second and third passes will be announced in the media and on the City of Tulsa website.

Anyone with questions or who believes their property was missed when haulers worked on their streets can report it to the Mayor’s Action Center at 596-2100.
