Reed Park Boasts February Programs

Reed Recreation Center announced some cultural events for February that should not be missed – namely their “African Drum & Dance Extravaganza” and the “Night of the Stars.”

The “African Drum & Dance Extravaganza” features Arthur Thompson and his African drummers and dancers on Tuesday, February 26th at 7pm. Described as an evening of ‘sights and sounds of Africa’, the program is in conjunction with Black History Month. Reservations for the event are currently being taken. Admission is free.

“Night of the Stars” is a father-daughter dance designed for girls ages 4 to 12 and their dad, uncle, or ‘favorite guy’. Scheduled for Friday, February 8th from 6:30 to 8pm. Reservation tickets are $4.00 in advance, and $6.00 at the door.

Reed Park is located at 4233 South Yukon – one block from West 41st and Union Avenue.
