Street Closing for Special Event — I CAN 5K Run
Saturday, April 5, the I CAN 5K Run takes place near 600 South Gary Place. Crowds in
excess of 400 are anticipated to attend and enjoy this TU fundraiser event benefiting Kendall
Whittier Inc., which begins at 9:00 AM.
Staging Area: Gary Place between 5th Place and 7th Street will be closed from 8:00 AM to
10:30 AM.
5km Racecourse: 7th Street between Gray Place and Gary Avenue, Gary Avenue, Florence
Avenue, and Evanston Avenue between 7th Street and 8th Street, 8th Street between Gary
Place and Delaware Avenue, Delaware Avenue between 11th Street and 4th Street, 6th Street
between Delaware Avenue and Columbia Avenue, Columbia Avenue between 6th Street and
5th Place, 5th Place between Birmingham Avenue and Gary Place, 5th Street between
Evanston Avenue and Florence Avenue, and 4th Place between Delaware Avenue and
Evanston Avenue will be closed from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM.
Drivers who are not coming to watch or participate in this event should avoid this area.
