Statewide Poetry Contest
Each year senior Oklahomans are invited to compete in the
State-Wide Senior Poetry Contest. Submissions are during February
of each year. All entries of the local contest will be submitted to
the state poetry contest for consideration. A great way to get your
creative juices flowing!
Senior Spelling Bee
Each year in March, TAAA hosts the Senior Spelling Bee which is
open to all seniors over 60 years of age. Winners of the Tri-County
area are invited to participate in the State Senior Spelling Bee
held in Oklahoma City each year in May. For a great time and an

Senior Day at the Capitol - OKC
In the midst of each legislative session in Oklahoma, the
Senior Advocates sponsor a Senior Day at the Capitol in Oklahoma
City. Thousands of Oklahoma's seniors converge on the state capitol
on a set date each Spring to make their collective voices heard on
various issues critical to the welfare of older citizens. The Tulsa
Area Agency on Aging and The Tri-County Council on Aging
coordinates bus transportation to the event for a minimal charge.

Senior Day at the State Conference on
Aging
As part of the annual State Conference on Aging held in
May of each year, all older Oklahomans are invited to participate
in special events planned for them. Senior Day is dedicated to
senior citizens and there is no fee to attend. Call TAAA at

Golden Age Celebration
A special celebration at the Tulsa State Fair each year
for couples married 50 years or more. Over 600 couples are honored
each year. If someone you know should be included in our special
