Corporal Jared Shoemaker Military and Veterans Center
The
Corporal Jared Shoemaker Military and Veterans Center at Tulsa
International Airport opened December 20, 2007 under the
Administration of Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor. The center is to serve
personnel in all branches of the military - active duty, National
Guard, reserves, retirees, veterans and authorized family members.
All services provided at the center are free to our guests and are
made possible by the generosity of private donors.
Location: Terminal A Post Security South
of Gate 20
Time: The hours of operation are 4 a.m.
to 11:30 p.m. or until the last flight.
Some of the amenities' at the center include:
- 37" flat screen television with cable provided by Cox
Communications.
- 17 Comfortable Chairs
- Two Coffee Tables
- One sofa
- Coffee Provided by Java Daves
- Three work stations complete with two computers, two printers,
three phones, and free wireless internet access.
- A brochure rack displaying what is available for veterans,
active duty, Guard, reservists, and family members in the City of
Tulsa.
- Paradise Shops will provide a 10% discount and all food venues
throughout the airport will give a 15% discount and free drinks for
those who have an active duty, reserve, or Guard I.D.
STRANDED SERVICEMEN OR SERVICEWOMEN who find
themselves at the Tulsa International Airport are to be sent to the
Airport Radisson Inn for a room overnight and hot meal FREE OF
CHARGE! Just locate the nearest airport official for
information.
Family members who wish to wait with their troop in the
Corporal Jared Shoemaker Military and Veterans Center
before he or she departs may do so by obtaining a security
badge from the ticket counter of that particular
airline.
