We have a very strong and vibrant city. We are growing jobs and we are seeing many new educational opportunities for our children. Tulsa is seeing a new kind of energy emerge and it is largely due to the many people who have stepped forward to make a difference in this community. People from the business community and the faith community are working with the city to address many issues—and we are making progress!

OK Ford Dealers Become
BOK Founding Partner
Mayor Kathy Taylor and Representatives from Oklahoma Ford Dealers announced that the Ford Dealers have committed to a 15-year Founders Partnership and other support for the BOK Center totaling $4.875 million.
The Ford Dealers committed to two Founders Suites for 15 years. The agreement makes Ford the Official Vehicle of the BOK Center. The dealers delivered three Ford trucks today to be used by BOK Center managers.
Miss Belvedere Finds a Home
“Miss Belvedere,” the 1957 Plymouth unearthed this year as a part of Tulsa’s Oklahoma Centennial celebration after being buried for 50 years near 6th and Denver, was delivered to its rightful owners this week and shipped to restoration specialists in New Jersey.
The car was buried in 1957, along with other artifacts, during the state’s semi-centinnial celebration. When unearted last summer it was discovered that the vault containing the car had leaked and the car was in poor condition and very rusty.
PAC Launches Print@Home
Attending events at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center just got even easier.
That’s because the PAC just initiated it’s new Print@Home ticketing option.
No waiting in will-call lines or at the box-office. No nervous stalking the mailbox to see if tickets have arrived by mail.
Customers can now print tickets easily from their home or office computer and have them scanned at the door. Holiday gift tickets can also be purchased and printed this way.
City Receives Distinguished
Budget Award
The City of Tulsa has received a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.
The award, for the fiscal year 2008 budget, “represents a significant achievement,” the awarding body said. “It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.”
Complete Our Streets Update
The Complete Our Streets citizen panel met this past week to finalize its street improvement recommendations that will be presented to the Mayor and City Council on December 4.
Each committee - smart urban design, contracting and finance - presented its report to other members of the panel for discussion. Goals included concisely harmonizing the information to represent consensus of the panel, as well as producing an easily understood document.
Southwest Airlines Expands Tulsa Service
Southwest Airlines announcedthis week it will begin Saturday non-stop service to Orlando from Tulsa on March 8, 2008.
Orlando is a popular spring travel destination and Southwest’s service will allow Tulsa travelers to take advantage of the convenience a nonstop flight offers.
Orlando is also the only city of the airport’s top ten destinations that currently lacks service. This addition will bring the total number of cities with nonstop Southwest service to and from Tulsa to 23.
