Greetings!
Next week, three new councilors, G.T. Bynum, Eric Gomez and David Patrick, will join our veteran city council team. I look forward to getting to know the new members of our team and working together to complete the budget and the many initiatives that are before us.
I would also like to congratulate City Auditor Philip Woods on winning his unprecedented 11th consecutive term.
As I conclude my second year in office, I find that it is still just as rewarding and exciting to be in public service as it was my first day in office! I am confident that 2008 will be Tulsa's best year yet!
By this fall, the BOK Center will open, our downtown streets will be completely reconstructed and beautified, our downtown arts district will be thriving and additional housing and retail will be underway. I look forward to working together with this Council to revitalize neighborhoods, support the growth of small business and continue our efforts to make Tulsa a safer place to live!
