Plan Your Block Party Now and Celebrate During the Citywide Block Parties, September 19

Have you signed up yet to have a block party in your neighborhood? One of the best ways to get acquainted with your neighbors is by getting together and having a block party.

City Trains Volunteers for Sign Removal

Twenty-one volunteers joined professional sign inspectors from the City's Inspection Services section last week for classroom training and in-the-field exercises.

The proliferation of illegally placed signs in rights of way along arterial streets and in neighborhoods has overwhelmed the City's ability to keep up with removal of the signs which seem to sprout again as soon as they are removed throughout Tulsa's nearly 200 square miles of land.

Mayor Kathy Taylor

Greetings,

Mark September 19 on your calendar for neighborhood fun! Get to know your neighbors at our Citywide Block Party Day. Enjoy a fun-filled day that brings the neighborhood together for a time to make or renew friendships.

The City's great community building event is aimed at drawing people closer together and helping them forge strong relationships, which is a vital part of building stronger, safer neighborhoods.

If you have not already done so, I invite you to register your neighborhood and join in the festivities that will be taking place all across Tulsa. Your neighborhood block party can be a simple get together, or a spectacular event that the neighbors will be talking about for years! Be sure to read the "Citywide Block Parties" article in this edition of E-news for more details and how to register.

Join me in this special celebration of community that will help make Tulsa a better and safer place to live.

Mayor Kathy Taylor
I Believe in Tulsa!
