Tulsa Parks to 'Break the Ice' for Summer Pools

It may seem too early to start thinking about summer pools, but not for the Tulsa Parks Department. The goal for the "Break the Ice" pool drive this year is $300,000 - enough to open five pools in 2010.

Tulsa Among Best Bang-for-the-Buck Cities

According to a recent study by Forbes.com, Tulsa ranked No.19 as one of the best bang-for-the-buck cities in the country. Mayor Dewey Bartlett

Tulsans,

On Monday, Dec. 21, our city will memorialize the life of a remarkable Tulsan, Rev. Oral Roberts, who passed away this week. Rev. Roberts touched thousands of lives in Tulsa during his lifetime. Through his vision for Oral Roberts University, combined with his evangelistic teachings and business sense, he nurtured the hearts and minds of students and employees. Many students have remained in Tulsa to begin their own churches and businesses to teach or assist local businesses in their success. As Oral Roberts' vision continues to thrive at ORU, his spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of Tulsans.

I spent the first two weeks in office meeting with department heads, reviewing the City's financial forecast and budget needs, and gearing up for the challenges that lie ahead next year. I look forward to working with Tulsans, building relationships and seizing new opportunities for progress in 2010.

I wish each of you a holiday filled with family, friends and love.

Best regards,
Dewey Bartlett
Mayor
