
City's Wellness Program Receives Gold Award
Mayor Kathy Taylor is pleased to announce that the American
Heart Association and Start! have recognized the City of Tulsa as a
Gold Start! Fit-Friendly Company. Additionally, the City of Tulsa
was selected to receive the Community Innovation Award for their
ongoing efforts to provide a culture of corporate wellness, which

Health Information Network Plan Announced
A consortium of Health Care providers and organizations has
announced the completion of their plan for a Tulsa Regional Health
Information Exchange. The announcement came at a news conference on
October 29 at City Hall at One Technology Center.

Tulsa Million Miles Completes 1,006,930 Miles!
Last October the Mayor's Office implemented a new health and
fitness initiative, Tulsa Million Miles, which challenged Tulsans
to collectively come together and walk, run, bike, and swim one
million miles in a year. Tulsans soared past that goal at last
week's Tulsa Run by completing 1,006,930 miles. Mayor Taylor said,
"We made a difference this year and we're going to keep on shaping
up Tulsa, one mile at a time!"

Animal Welfare Hours Changed
The hours at the Tulsa Animal Welfare Division Shelter have
changed. Effective Tuesday, November 3, the shelter will open to
the public at noon, Tuesday through Saturday.
The shelter will close on weekdays at 6 p.m. (Tuesday through
Friday), and on Saturday at 4 p.m. Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter is
closed Sundays, Mondays and City Holidays.
