Flame Sculpture Added to Council Oak Park

1750 South Cheyenne Avenue, is older than either Tulsa or

Tulsa's newest Aviation Hangar, now Open
Last week, Mayor Taylor and other area state and local leaders
celebrated the opening of Tulsa's newest aviation maintenance
hangar, now named the Carmine J. Romano Center. This is the first
hangar constructed on the airport's North Development Area with
American Airlines being the long-term tenant. Plans on using the
facility will be for a variety of maintenance, repair, overhaul
activities and aircraft modification work. Funding for the hangar
came from $4.3 million in third penny City of Tulsa sales tax, $5.7
million from state opportunity grant funding and $1,568,000 from
the sale of the Air Force Plant to the City of Tulsa. Already the
largest employer in Tulsa with over 6,000 jobs, American Airlines
is expecting 100 more jobs at the new hangar.
