Two Helicopters Operable This Weekend

Mayor Bartlett and Police Chief Chuck Jordan have announced that two helicopters will be back up in the air this weekend for patrols. Both helicopters will continue to be maintained and will be in the air at the same time only during an emergency or disaster situation, as has been the past policy for the air patrol. Two flight crews will trade between the helicopters for patrolling. The funding to maintain and operate both helicopters will be approximately $1.6 million over the next four years.

Is the theatre in your blood? Then mark your calendars to audition for Heller Theatre's Mauritius by Theresa Rebeck. The open auditions will take place at the Henthorne Performing Arts Center, Saturday, September 11 at 3 p.m. If needed, callbacks will be held Tuesday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m.

ODOT Public Meeting, Tonight at Central Library

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has scheduled a series of public meetings across the State to receive comments on the draft 2035 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRP) and the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The long-range plan is for the federal fiscal years 2011 - 2014.

The City of Tulsa has recently been honored with several awards which are reflective of our commitment to Tulsa citizens. The Performing Arts Center's monthly magazine, Intermission, received the Best Public Relations Magazine Great Plains Journalism Award. For the 28th year, the City's Finance Department was honored for their annual comprehensive report and received a certificate of excellence from the Government Finance Officers Association. And last, but not least, the City of Tulsa's Web site earned an A-plus for its commitment to openness in government. Tulsa was among 39 cities in the U.S. that received a perfect score for fully disclosing online government information.

I am extremely proud of everyone who had a part in these endeavors. Please join me in congratulating all parties who were honored on behalf of the City of Tulsa. You are all perfect examples of what makes Tulsa great!
