Business Forums with Mayor Bartlett

Businesses small and large are invited to join Mayor Bartlett for five business forums being held throughout the City of Tulsa. Each forum will focus on how the City of Tulsa can better facilitate growth and remove roadblocks in the way of prosperity for Tulsa businesses.


Downtown Sealed Corridor Project Complete

A sealed corridor of five railroad crossings downtown has been completed. This sealed corridor consists of new gates installed where the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad intersects with Greenwood Avenue, Elgin Avenue, Cheyenne Avenue, Elwood Avenue and Guthrie Avenue.


Tulsa Parks Receives 2010 Achieve Grant

The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) recently selected Tulsa Parks and Recreation as a 2010 Action Communities for Health, Innovation, and EnVironmental changE (ACHIEVE) community; it is geared toward advancing the nation's efforts to prevent chronic diseases and their related risk factors.


Census Workers Still Needed

Up to 1,500 more workers are still needed to assist with the 2010 Census in the Tulsa metro area. Census takers work evening and weekend hours and are temporary, part-time positions.

These workers will receive training and an hourly wage. Census takers must have their own transportation and will be reimbursed for most travel expenses.

 


BRIDGE Networking Event

Entrepreneurs and small business owners are invited to the City of Tulsa's BRIDGE Business Networking Event from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Thursday, March 4 at the Central Center at Centennial Park, 6th and Madison.

The third annual networking event provides training opportunities for participants to learn more about: estimation and bidding processes, success in contracting, overview and accessing government contracting opportunities and more.

 


Tulsa PAC Offers Riveting Productions

Two thought-provoking plays and one of Verdi's most beloved operas await audiences at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.

Find out what happens when teen video-gamers lose touch with reality when Odeum Theatre Company, the PAC's newest theatre group, stages the play "Neighborhood 3: Requisition for Doom," Feb. 25 - 28. Odeum Theatre is offering special ticket price for friends of the PAC.
