Mayor Dewey Bartlett

It's officially National Public Works Week in Tulsa. Each year during the third full week of May, Tulsa joins with other communities nationwide to recognize and celebrate the dedication of Public Works employees.

This week I want to commend the more than 1,300 employees in our Public Works Department for the work they do to keep life running smoothly in this city. Our citizens depend each day on the services that Public Works provides - clean water, sewer service, trash disposal, streets and flood control.

Tomorrow we're having a Safety Fair and Equipment Rodeo to give our heavy equipment operators an opportunity to demonstrate their skills with forklifts, backhoes and track hoes. This event emphasizes safety but also shows our appreciation for these City of Tulsa employees.

Best regards,
Dewey Bartlett
Mayor
