Mayor's Mentoring Program Expands to Tulsa County

During the past year, Mayor Dewey Bartlett's Mentoring to the Max initiative has been successful in recruiting more mentors for our Tulsa area schools, however, much more needed to be done: more youth are in need of mentoring services than one organization can handle alone.

LED Traffic Signals Are Saving Energy in Tulsa

This week citizens may notice a flurry of activity going on downtown as the process begins to convert more than 1,100 incandescent lamps to LED in traffic signals and pedestrian signals. Completion of the project is scheduled for March 2011, weather permitting.

Enroll Your Young Artist in WaterWorks Art Classes

WaterWorks Art Center, Tulsa's leading arts school and studio, is offering spring classes for young artists, ages 6 to 18 years of age.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett

Dear Tulsans,

I am eager to present to the public this Administration's Vision for Tulsa, based on the many seeds we planted in 2010. The councilors and I agree on many of our priorities, most of which are included in the Council's Compendium of Needs for the next year and beyond.

2010 marked the beginning of a new vision for Tulsa. It is my hope that our initiatives will inspire and challenge Tulsans in 2011 and beyond. Through our efforts to reap these visionary seeds planted in 2010, we will give our citizens a new sense of confidence in Tulsa's future.

I am thankful that you, as Tulsans, have been patient and willing to work with our employees who have continued to carry out their duties and respond to citizen needs despite financial cutbacks and hurdles. We are all on this journey together, and I am confident we will reach our full potential as a community. (2011 priority initiatives)

Sincerely,
Dewey Bartlett
Mayor
