Message, continued...

Greetings,
On October 10, people from all walks of life and across all generations will convene at the Tulsa Convention Center for the City of Tulsa's Across the Generations: What We Owe Each Other. This day-long summit will bring citizens of all ages together to plan for future challenges and opportunities that will address an aging population and overall population growth. Tulsa will be the first city in the nation to host such a summit and will become a model for other cities.

National speakers will be on hand to talk about ways to address intergenerational issues, share their ideas about changing demographics and bring together advocates for all ages. During the afternoon "Dream" workshops, summit participants will brainstorm and discuss topics such as education, health care, housing, employment and social services and offer their ideas, dreams and plans to build a better community for our city.

The City of Tulsa has partnered with the national Legacy Project, a multigenerational education project, to create a model for Legacy Community Building that addresses changing demographics, financial realities, environmental imperatives and social needs of all generations.

This summit is about more than a moment; it is a movement to inspire citizens of all ages to build a better tomorrow, not only for Tulsa, but other communities across our state and great nation.

I invite you to join me on Monday, October 10th at the Tulsa Convention Center for our Across the Generations Summit: What We Owe Each Other. More details on the summit can be found online.

Best regards,
Dewey Bartlett
Mayor of Tulsa
