City Hall Closed on the Fourth of July

City Hall and other City facilities will be closed Monday, July 4, for Independence Day. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal.

Tulsa residents who need assistance with a water, sewer or streets emergency may call the Customer Care Center at (918) 596-2100 to contact the correct City personnel.

City of Tulsa's New Customer Care Center

In response to the City of Tulsa's citizen survey which called for improved and enhanced services for Tulsa citizens, Mayor Dewey Bartlett has created a new department solely focused on enhancing the level of citizen satisfaction with City services.

ONEOK Freedomfest 2011 Offers Safe Alternative For Fireworks

The Fourth of July is near and while fireworks are being sold throughout the metropolitan area, the City of Tulsa's ordinances prohibit the use of fireworks within its corporate boundaries.

The pre-set fine for fireworks violations is $220, but fines of up to $500 can be imposed.

An alternative to do-it-yourself fireworks is Tulsa's largest fireworks display on Monday, July 4 near the 21st Street bridge on the Arkansas River.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett

Greetings,

Every Fourth of July we celebrate the anniversary of the signing of our nation's Declaration of Independence. On the 235th birthday of the United States of America, we have much to be proud of in our country where we enjoy more freedoms than any other nation on earth. On this important day as we celebrate our country's independence, please remember to say thank you to all of our veterans, military personnel and their families for the commitment and the sacrifices they make to protect our freedom.

On Monday, July 4, many of us will fly our American flags and enjoy picnics and outdoor activities. Some will shoot off fireworks with their friends and neighbors - outside Tulsa's city limits, of course - and others will join thousands of people in watching public fireworks displays near the 21st Street bridge on the Arkansas River. In whatever way you choose to celebrate this year, be sure to stay safe and have a great holiday weekend.

Best regards,
Dewey Bartlett
Mayor
