New Tulsa Police Graduates
Last Friday, the Tulsa Police Department graduated 40 Police
Officers to the police force. Following Friday's graduation, the
recruits transitioned to Officers in Training and will complete a
16-week training program with Field Training Officers. The Officers
in Training will train in each of the department's patrol
divisions: Gilcrease Division, Mingo Valley Division and Riverside
Division.
Upon completion of field training, the new officers will be
assigned to fill vacancies in the patrol divisions. The recruits
began their 26-week training on Jan. 24, 2011 and have completed
more than 900 hours of instruction, including: legal, firearms,
defensive tactics, driver's training, report writing and officer
survival.
