Local Emergency Simulation Scenarios Can Save Lives

The Tulsa Fire Department now has high-tech human patient simulators that can provide risk-free medical and emergency response training and reduce potential for human error.

The new patient simulator at the Tulsa Fire Department's Fire Training Academy is a mathematically engineered human model that represents the future of healthcare training and patient safety.


Tulsa Parks Kicks Off Youth Fall Sports Leagues

Looking for ways your kids can be more active and more health-conscious this fall? Beginning August 16, boys and girls as young as Kindergarten age can sign up for Tulsa Parks Youth Fall Sports Leagues, featuring Flag Football and Soccer. Athletes in 4th through the 8th grade can also enroll in the Volleyball Clinic.

Many Tulsa area schools have started or will be back in session soon, so please slow-down in school zones and neighborhoods where children are crossing streets.

In 2009, 3,110 pedestrians died in the United States while walking in neighborhoods or crossing streets. During that same year, the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety reported there were 379 pedestrian fatalities in Oklahoma.

The City of Tulsa is part of 200 communities across the nation dedicated to keeping our children safe through Keep Kids Alive Drive 25®, a national education campaign.
