PSO Offers Rebate for Discarding Your Inefficient Refrigerator
Tulsa residents can discard their older, inefficient
refrigerators through the City of Tulsa's Bulky Waste pickup
service and receive a $25 rebate until Aug. 30 from AEP-PSO for
reducing demand for electricity.
To arrange for pickup of a refrigerator, other appliance or
furniture, Tulsa refuse customers may call (918) 596-9777. This
service is included in their monthly utility fee. Collection of
bulky waste must be scheduled in advance because a truck other than
the usual trash truck is needed.
Refrigerators eligible for the rebate must be in working order
and will be tested to make sure they draw electricity. Replacing an
inefficient refrigerator with an energy efficient one could save
approximately $200 per year in electricity costs.
