Tulsa's Savoring Sister Cities, Sept. 21

Did you know Tulsa has eight international Sister Cities? And only one Tulsa annual event gives us the chance to savor the flavor of their eight different countries at once.

Savoring Sister Cities - a Cultural Celebration, is a truly unique evening presented by Tulsa Global Alliance (TGA). This event will showcase the cuisine of Tulsa's Eight Sister Cities on September 21 at the TCC Center for Creativity.

Co-chairs Judy Glenn and Lexi Allen have planned an international evening that includes door prizes, a wine pull, international entertainment and food representative of the cultures of Celle, Germany; Beihai, China; San Luis Potosi, Mexico; Kaohsiung, Taiwan; Amiens, France; Zelenograd, Russia, Utsunomiya, Japan and Tiberias, Israel.

Local establishments providing some of the savory and sweet tidbits and libations include Margaret's German Restaurant, Mod's Coffee and Crepes, Te Kei's, Marshall Brewing Company, Asian Mart, Siegi's Saugsage Factory, and the Great Wall Restaurant. Members of each of our eight Sister City Partnerships will be on hand to server you.

Taking the stage between 6 and 8 p.m. will be Flamenco Tulsa, Dylan Allen Spanish Guitar, Tulsa Children's Choir and China Roses. Door prizes featuring items native to the eight Sister Cities will be announced throughout the evening, with a special drawing for those becoming new TGA Members-a chance at two round-trip American Airlines tickets.

Savoring Sister Cities - a Cultural Celebration, benefits Tulsa Global Alliance, a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to increasing global awareness, understanding and opportunities in Northeastern Oklahoma by hosting international visitors, facilitating Sister Cities activities, promoting global education, assisting with international trade development, cooperating with international organizations and serving as a resource for area governments, business, educational institutions, organizations and residents.

The Savoring Sister Cities event is open to TGA members and the general public. Tickets are available at the door.
