City Offices Closed Jan. 16 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

City Hall and other City offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal.

The City of Tulsa sales tax revenues for November increased $2 million over a year ago, according to the January Oklahoma Tax Commission report.

Of the increase, $1 million was the result of an additional .167 cent tax that is earmarked for the capital improvements program. The .167 cent increase was approved by voters and replaced a County tax of the same amount, which expired in late 2011. Our January receipts totaled $20 million compared with $17.9 million reported in January of 2011 and included $6 million specifically for capital projects.
