Greening the (918) Series

The Greening the (918) Seminar Series, produced by Sustainable Tulsa and Mayor Taylor's Green Team, continues in 2009. All of the seminars will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Central Center at Centennial Park, 1928 E. 6th St., Tulsa. (On 6th Street, just west of Peoria.)

During each seminar, a panel of experts will address various aspects of the topic.They will field questions from the audience.

These interactive 'Greening the (918)' sessions are designed to inspire organizations and individuals to take action and to lead the city to be one of the greenest cities in the nation.  Sean Griffin will moderate and graphically facilitate the session artistically on panels during the meeting. Tulsa's green building challenges will be discussed, as well as what action steps Tulsa must take to overcome these challenges.

Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in a personal action step. They will receive written notes from the seminar, and be contacted (if desired) to see how they are progressing on their pledged action steps.

Networking and light refreshments will follow the informational seminar. The seminar series is sponsored by Ihloff Salon and Day Spa and Tulsa People, and is open and free to the public.

Sustainable Tulsa is a nonprofit dedicated to responsible economic growth, environmental stewardship and quality of life for all.  Sustainable Tulsa has distributed over 20,000 Tulsa Area Green Directories, promoted local foods through education and local foods events and is co-chairing the Greening the (918) series with Mayor Taylor's Green Team.

Mayor Taylor's Green Team is a group of Tulsa citizens with expertise in the many areas of sustainability, each serving at the Mayor's request to consider ways to guide Tulsa toward  becoming one of the most sustainable cities in the United States.
