Summary of Plan Goals
Energy and Emissions
Goal 1: Reduce the emount of energy used by COT facilities by 15% below 2008 levels by December 31, 2011.
Goal 2: Reduce the amount of energy used by COT facilities by 10% below current levels by December 31, 2009.
Goal 3: Obtain 30% of all energy in COT facilities from renewable sources by June 30, 2013.
Goal 4: Perform all new COT construction, major renovations and retrofits to a high performance certification program standard in accordance with Oklahoma Statute Title 61 Sec. 213 (HB 3393) by June 30, 2011.
Fleet emissions and Fuel Use
Goal 1: To reduce total fuel usage by COT vehicles by 15% below 2008 levels by June 30, 2010.
Goal 2: Reduce the amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissionsfrom COT vehicles.
Goal 3: Reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from all sources, COT and Community.
Solid Waste and Recycling
Goal 1: Reduce solid waste produced at COT facilities.
Goal 2: Increase recycling at COT facilities and events.
Goal 3: Expand curbside recycling participation and diversion.
Transportation
Goal 1: Increase the use of alternative transportation by COT employees.
Goal 2: Increase the use of alternative transportation by Tulsa citizens.
Goal 3: Decrease the amount of GHG emissions from public transportation vehicles.
Land Use and Natural Resource Stewardship
Goal 1: Increase efficient use of water and other natural resources in COT owned/operated facilities.
Goal 2: Improve the quality of urban green space.
Goal 3: Improve the quality of urban waterways.
Goal 4: Create walkable communities within existing neighborhoods.
Goal 5: Promote the use of locally produced foods in COT facilities, schools and restaurants.
Community and Economic Development
Goal 1: Increase the number of green businesses in Tulsa.
Goal 2: Increase the amount of energy efficient, affordable housing in Tulsa.
Education and Outreach
Goal 1: Increase the awareness of natural resource conservation among COT officials and ABCs.
Goal 2: Increase the awareness of natural resource conservation among the citizens of Tulsa.
