The City of Tulsa requests citizens’ comments on ways to help reduce deaths, injuries and destruction from tornadoes, ice storms, floods and other natural disasters.
A public meeting is scheduled for Tulsans to participate in discussion of hazards and ways to respond to hazards and prevent damage. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.

(west of the Central Library, adjacent to the old City Hall)
The City of Tulsa is required to update its Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan this year and submit it for approval to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The plan must be adopted by a City Council ordinance.
Improving education in Tulsa schools has long been a top priority of Mayor Kathy Taylor’s administration. Thursday, August 28 the mayor will convene Keeping Our Promise Dropout Prevention Summit, sponsored by America’s Promise Alliance in conjunction with Tulsa Public Schools, Jenks Public Schools and Union Public Schools.
The University of Tulsa will host the dropout prevention summit, located at the Allen Chapman Activity Center.
Tulsans who have tree limbs and other greenwaste to dispose of in the wake of the recent storms have three options for disposal.
Public Works crews are making one sweep through the entire city looking for and collecting tree limbs at the curbs.
