ARCHIVED PRESS RELEASE: Published 9-1-2010
City Hall and other city offices will be closed on Monday,
September 6, for Labor Day. Public safety and mission critical
operations, however, will operate as normal. Residents who need
assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the City's
24-hour emergency number, 596-9488.
Residential refuse will not be collected on Monday, Sept. 6,
because of the holiday. Customers whose trash is picked up on
Mondays and Thursdays should put their accumulated trash at the
curb on Thursday, Sept. 9. Residents with once-a-week trash service
are not affected, because Monday is not a usual service day.
Recycling customers for whom Monday is a scheduled pick-up day
should put their recyclables for pick-up at the curb on
Saturday, Sept. 4. Notices have been mailed to
customers who are affected by this change.
The City's greenwaste site, 10401 E. 56th St. North, also will
be closed on Monday, Sept. 6, for Labor Day. It will reopen on
Tuesday, Sept. 7, to resume its daily schedule of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
except for City holidays.
Tulsa Parks recreation centers will be closed on Monday, but the
parks' outdoor facilities will be accessible as usual. City pools
have closed for the season. The City of Tulsa Animal Welfare
Shelter at 3031 North Erie Ave. also will be closed on Monday.
Mohawk and Page Belcher golf courses, as well as Tulsa Zoo, will
be open on Monday. Gilcrease Museum will be closed on Monday
according to its usual schedule. The Tulsa Performing Arts Center
also will be closed on Monday.
