City seeks comment on application for Brownfield clean-up grant

The public is invited to comment on the City of Tulsa's
application for a Brownfields Clean-Up Grant from the Environmental
Protection Agency for the Evans-Fintube site located at 150 and 186
North Lansing Ave. "Brownfield sites" means real property, the
expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by
the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance,
pollutant or contaminant.
The City will receive comments and questions regarding this
grant application and the North Tulsa Brownfields Strategic Action
Plan at a public meeting on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 6 p.m. to 7:30
p.m. in the North Mabee Boys & Girls Club Auditorium Room, 3001
N. Cincinnati Ave. Refreshments will be served from 6 to 6:30 p.m.,
and a presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a time for
questions and answers.
The draft proposal for the Evans-Fintube clean-up grant will
include an analysis of Brownfields clean-up alternatives and
information about the site. The draft will summarize information
about the site's contamination issues, cleanup standard, applicable
laws and the proposed cleanup.
On Wednesday, Nov. 16, the City of Tulsa will post a copy of the
draft proposal on the City website for public review and comments.
A final proposal will be posted on the City website by Nov. 28.
