City Offices to Close Thursday, Friday for Thanksgiving

City of Tulsa offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal. Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the City's Customer Care Center, (918) 596-2100.

Trash and curbside recycling services will not operate on Thanksgiving Day. Customers in the once-a-week collection area (northwest quadrant) should put their trash at the curb for pickup on Saturday, Nov. 26. Customers in the twice-a-week collection area should put their trash at the curb for pickup on Monday, Nov. 28. Curbside recycling that would have been picked up on Thursday, Nov. 24, will be collected instead on Saturday, Nov. 26.

Friday, Nov. 25, will be a regular service day for trash pickup and curbside recycling.

The City of Tulsa greenwaste site, 10401 East 56th Street North, will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, Friday, Nov. 25, Sunday, Nov. 27, and Monday, Nov. 28. It will be open on Saturday, Nov. 26, however. The usual schedule of the greenwaste site will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 29: open every day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. except for City holidays. In addition to wood chips, free firewood is available at the site. Tulsa residents may drop off yard waste free of charge.

Tulsa Parks' recreation centers will be closed on Thursday and Friday. The outdoor areas of the parks will be accessible to the public.

The City of Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter, 3031 North Erie Ave., will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24, but will be open on Friday, Nov. 25, from noon to 4 p.m., as well as on Saturday, Nov. 26, from noon to 4 p.m. The shelter will be closed Sunday and Monday, and then will resume its usual schedule next week: Tuesday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.

Both City golf courses - Mohawk and Page Belcher, will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but open on Friday. Tulsa Zoo and Gilcrease Museum both will be open on Thanksgiving and on Friday.

Tulsa Performing Arts Center will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
