The City of Tulsa has two surplus auctions each year on the 1st
Saturdays in May and in November. If the Police have unclaimed
property, it is usually sold at these auctions. Confiscated
vehicles are also sold at these auctions.
Typical surplus is comprised of field inspection vehicles, police
vehicles, trucks of all sorts, fire trucks, tractors, backhoes,
trailers, specialized rolling equipment, boats & motors,
specialized equipment; concrete saws, traffic signals, fire plugs,
ditch shoring, truck engines/transmissions, gym equipment, kilns,
lab equipment, PCs and related equipment, FAX machines, telephones,
SCBAs, fire hoses, police light/siren bars, lawn care equipment,
power tools, office furnishings, stoves, refrigerators, power
generators, air compressors, vehicle test/repair equipment,
etc.
Note: Every auction does not always have all the items
previously mentioned. These types of surplus were only
identified to give an idea of the types that may be up for sale at
any given auction.
There is no registration fee. Children under the age of 16 are
not allowed on the premises. There is Preview and
Pre-Registration day the Friday before the acution day, and from
8-10 a.m. on auction day. The auction is advertised in the
Tulsa Daily World Sunday issue the Sunday before the auction.
Payment has to be by cash, cashier's check, MC/Visa credit
card or a check with a Bank Letter of Guarantee issued to the
City of Tulsa. Sales tax is usually collected on all items subject
to sales tax; unless a copy of sales tax exemption permit is
provided.
The auction starts at 9 a.m. Gates open at 7 a.m.
The auction site is at 108 N. Trenton - Go north on Utica;
cross over the I-244 overpass; continue north about 2 blocks; turn
left on either Archer or Easton streets; drive to the end of the
block and you will see the City's Surplus Facility.
