Veterinary Assistant/Veterinary Technician Progression
Under immediate supervision provides technical veterinary services as an assistant to the Veterinarian and Veterinary Technician in caring for the health and well being of animals and other related assigned duties.

VETERINARY ASSISTANT
Pay Grade: AT-23 / Salary Range: $2,459.09- $4,258.35/Mo.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or possession of a General Education
Development Certificate (GED), plus 40 accredited college hours and
actively working toward an associate's degree in veterinary
technology; and one (1) year experience working within a related
veterinary environment; or an equivalent combination of training
and experience per Personnel Policies and Procedures, Section
128.
Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of a valid Oklahoma Class "D" Operator's License. *Must
obtain DEA Euthanasia Technician certification within one
year.
VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Pay Grade: AT-28 / Salary Range: $2,709.72- $4,692.36/Mo.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an
associate's degree from an American Veterinary Medical Association
accredited program in veterinary technology and three (3) years
experience working within a related veterinary environment.
Licenses and Certificates:
Current certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
by the Oklahoma State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners; and
requires a valid Oklahoma Class "D" Operator's License.
