Juvenile Firesetter
In 2002 there were 13,900 children's play structure fires. There
were 210 child deaths, 1,250 child injuries caused by fire with a
total cost of $339 million dollars in damages. Because of this and
many other statistics, the Tulsa Fire Department offers a Juvenile
Fire-Setters Intervention Program designed to assess and educate
children between the ages of 3 and 17 years old. If you have or
know of any child or teen that has shown tendencies to play with
lighters or matches, or that has accidently set a fire, you owe it
to yourself and your child to get them involved in our program.
Juvenile Fire-setting is not a fire problem-It's a KID
problem.
