Resolution calling for, and requesting the Election Board to conduct, a non-partisan Special Election on February 10, 2026, for the purpose of submitting to the Qualified Voters of the City of Tulsa, in accordance with Oklahoma Statutes Title 68, §§ 2701 and 2705, the question of the “Seven-Tenths of a Penny Sales Tax”, City of Tulsa Ordinance, which permanently increases the levy of an excise tax, also known as a sales tax, to be used for general purposes of municipal government from two percent (2%) to two and seven-tenths percent (2.7%), commencing on July 1, 2026; providing that this tax shall be in addition to any other sales tax then existing; stating the purposes of the said tax; giving notice to the Tulsa, Osage, Rogers, and Wagoner County Election Boards of said election, pursuant to Title 26 Oklahoma Statutes § 3-101 and § 13-102, and amendments thereto; authorizing and requesting the Mayor of the City of Tulsa to call and proclaim the holding of the Special Election in the City of Tulsa in accordance with Article VI of the City Charter, Section 4 “Calling Elections”.
