The State of Oklahoma’s report by the Commission to Study the Tulsa Race Riot of 1921, completed in 2001, identified three primary sites as those most likely to contain remains of victims from the 1921 Race Massacre: Oaklawn Cemetery, Newblock Park and Rolling Oaks Memorial Gardens, formerly Booker T. Washington Cemetery. These sites will be the focus of our initial investigation. We are actively seeking oral histories and historical documents that may identify other locations for future phases of the investigation.
